Barrel re-contour ?

I have a heavy Savage Varmint barrel and would like to turn it down to .750ish it has shallow flutes which could be a problem, anyone know of somebody that could do this for me? I would like to try this before buying a new barrel and I know things could go south but I have faith, reason I am hesitant to sell is due to twist rate it's a 243 Ackley with a 1 in 9.25 and everyone thinks they need a 1 in 8, anyway any leads would be great. Not a good idea with non cut rifled barrels as bore dimensions can change.

Just go to www.savageshooters.com and ton of used and new barrels for sale and can sell yours.

Turning down a factory, fluted, button rifled barrel sound like a great way to spend money with a high probability having a tomato stake when done!
