Barrel Lapping?

Theres a reason cut rifled barrels get " finish lapped". Button barrels should get lapped after the bore reamer is ran through the barrel and before the button is pulled to get some very fine bore reamer marks out. If the drilling and bore reaming is done correctly should only take about 35 hand laps to get it ready for the button pulling process. There should be no finish lap needed on a button barrel done IF the pre lapping is done correctly and the proper follower is used on the button.

not so much as machine marks, but slivers and out of uniform lines plays it's part of an inaccurate barrel. I like to borescope when barrels (or any new firearms) arrive before any cleaning gets done. If it looks like cleaning will remove any issues then I'll clean it. I don't want to do someone else's job. I'll send it back for them to do the job they didn't finish.
