Ballistic Data for .308 168g HPBT

I'm new, so this could be completely right, but I just figured that it wouldn't be so many MOA to get the gun shooting out to 1000 yards.

It is a Sierra Matchking HPBT at 168g shooting 2600 FPS (.462 BC)

Does this data look correct to you? First column is 1/4 MOA, second is 1 MOA.

More or less.

The 168 is a dog of a bullet and at only 2600fps you are going subsonic long before 1K so the drop at 1 K is meaningless.

If you want to make it to 1K use 175MK In Fed GM or if you reload then you can use 155 gr match bullets such as the Berger Fullbore and you will have a drop of 30+MOA.

I just ran it through Hornady's ballistic calculator, and I came up with 41.6 MOA. The variation could be sight height, I used 2", but it's very close.

shoot the 155 scenar.... you will be lots happier

I use the 175grain Nosler Custom Competition. It flies identical to a 175 match king and cost much less. If you don't want to go heavy, then get you some 155 Scenars. But by all means ditch the 168's
