There is a YouTube video of them showing them with a suppressor. From what I remember, it basically extends the suppressor expansion chamber down the length of the barrel so their suppressors can be smaller or something like that.. they did the outer layer of the barrel and suppressor in a clear polymer so you could see how it worked.

Yes, it was a great video to watch and explained a lot on how they work.
