Atlas bipod legs removal?

Can you remove the lower legs in the atlas bipods? I have the one that rotates and it's kind of annoying. I was thinking if I could remove them I could drill a hole, thread it and have a set screw, kind of like a lock screw for the lock nut on your reloading dies.
