think I am getting close
this was at 100 yards with 6 mph crossing wind
sorry don't know how to upright pic

That's pretty fast. What is your overall length? I have been curious anout RE26. I am a little concerned about temp sensitivity though. Have had it with RE17 enough that I went back to the Hodgdon powders.

I load them in a Ruger and fit to mag length, they are at 3.335" to fit/feed reliably. They are accurate, but only at 2907 fps with H1000.

dropped 2 animals this year, both where only 100 yard shots. didn't get to test that long shot,
pic above is cow elk went through both shoulders, dropped in tracks.this was the exit hole.
would like to see what it does at 500 plus yards. being here on east coast that will have to wait till next years colorado elk and Muley hunt.
if anyone else runs this bullet please post pics or send them to me if you have .Thanks

Well 2 years in row I have dropped my elk with this Barnes LRX 175 gr 30 cal bullet in my 300wm . I am sold on these bullets. I am really considering ditching the nosler partition for whitetail's and going with a Barnes bullet in my 308. This year I had 250 yard shot found my elk 50 ft from there. Just wonder how it will work on whitetails with a little less FPS load and dropping also down to 130 or 150 ttsxbt bullet.

how much gr of the H1000 are you putting in?

I recently just bought a savage 110 in 300 win mag and I'm looking into reloading shells for the accuracy ive been going back and forth if I want to go with a 200gr eld-x hornady or the 175 gr LRX this post surely has been leaning towards barnes but what powder weight should I start out at and whats the max?

alliant site has the barnes 180 gr tsx at 79.2 with RL 26, I worked up to 80 gr with 175 gr lrx, 3231 fps. i Had no signes of being over pressure, but I also have a custom gun.remember to keep all copper bullets off the lands and always use lighter grain bullet. I would pay special attention to distance off the lands once you find a powder charge. I started at .050 off lands and ended up at .100 off.
