Hey Guy's, I'm wondering does anyone have a gun ( 7mag) that likes barnes kissing the lands instead of .030 to .090 off the lands? No I don't want to hurt my gun or my self, but my gun shot them pretty fair touching the lands.

Can't comment on 7mm. But my 308 win likes .025 off, my .358 likes .055 off. 2nd best seating depth for the .358 is .005 off.

Hope this helps.

You need to watch for pressure signs. You need a chron to see what velocity you are getting. Barns manual says to say at least 30 thousands off the lands because you can get too much pressure. I guess you can load closer to the lands but you will not get the velocity you can get by loading farther away most likely. I have not shot all that many Barns bullets myself because my needs can be filled with much cheaper bullets.

I load Barnes bullets in at least 8 rifles and all but two of them shoot their best with the bullet kissing the lands. Your magazine length may not always permit that.
Work up slowly, watch for pressure signs, and shoot them where the gun likes them

Thanks guy's, this all helps I'm shooting 64grns of 4350 and a 120 nosler and a buddy gave me around 100 120grn ttsx , I never sat down at a bench and tried for groups, but I did shoot at 1inch circle 3 times one day and it was very usable, under half inch at 100 and picked up 2 rounds and put them in the magazine totally unaware and killed a couple yotes at 150 to 165 yds same day and just loaded the barnes in same seater length as the nosler , and noticed what I had done, and checked another barnes I had loaded, and colored it with a black sharpie, chambered it and it also was just touching the lands, with no tight bolt or primer problem so I thought when I finish these 25 nosler's off I may go to the range and fire a few
