Tell you what I use 225 grain Nosler Accubond. Killed only a few bull elk but all went down in sight and you could tell after being hit they were having great difficulty moving. Think Nosler Partition but without the partition and a better BC.
I have shot about 9-10 into soaked/drained newspapers and they performed exactly as advertised at 100 and 300 yards. Mushroomed to a little over 2x and retained at least 60% of their original weight.
Will grant you not much of a test sample but I am 100% satisfied with them.
