African cat safari

I will be doing an African safari that will be small cat heavy. I am looking for advice on caliber and factory ammo choice to best ensure preservation of hide for taxidermy purposes. The cats I will be hunting will be bobcat size give or take. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I assume a caliber that will allow for a slower velocity and a solid bullet would probably be best.
