I am still very new to coyote hunting, just starting this year and only actively trying to call coyotes since November. Without using calls or attractants, most of my hunts have been spot and shoot, assuming I could get the rifle up in time. During the year, I changed over from using a Pulsar N750 digital night vision scope to using an Armasight Zeus 3, 640x480 resolution thermal scope. I am shooting a 6.5 Grendel AR15. The latest hunts are first...

This coyote was taken during a stalk around the property to check other areas other than my stand. She was running back and forth along a windbreak tree line when I spotted her. She stopped without being called.

I was sitting in a stand and heard coyotes in the distance and was surprised to hear one answer from a ravine below the stand. I was able to make a few calls while getting my rifle up that was enough to stop this coyote long enough for a shot. Humidity was high and thermal scope conditions were terrible, but not a problem for the shot.

I didn't have the sound turned on when I recorded this hunt. I spotted the coyote trotting across the field and called it. It came to me way too fast. I tried different calling to get it to stop, but it just kept coming and I didn't have a good shot. Fortunately, it circled back around and I was able to get it to stand still long enough for a shot.

The next two are brief vids and are the first two coyotes I got on thermal. Both were spot and shot...
