Has anyone got any favourite loads for this calibre. I would like to try some lighter bullets circa 100 grains for long range foxing. and a good load for Deer

thanks in advance

I have one but chambered 7mm/300 wsm I have only tried 140 and 150 gr bullets up to press,I would be interested in any load data available

Doubt you guys want to wait on me. It'll be a month or two before I can do any load testing in a 7WSM.
I did get 3670 fps from sierra 90 varminters in a 270WSM. Those loads were a full grain under max book value and made people laugh aloud when they hit a prairie dog. Splat!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I worked up a load for a friends 7mm wsm in a win black shadow. He wanted to use 120g btips for coyotes, so here goes. 62g imr 4350. CCI br-2 primer. W-W case. Good for 3250fps. Accuracy was 3/4" for 3 shots at 100 yards. Would be a great fox/coyote load, but maybe just a tad on the light side for deer. I would use the 140g btip, but thats just me. Good luck.

Interesting using the BR-2 primer in a Magnum. Anyone else try this? I love BR-2's in my other cartridges but never considered trying with my WSM. I've always used mag primers for mag cartridges.

I use 70 gr. of retumbo under a 168 gr. berger @ 2980fps. This is listed as hogdons max load. I did however work up to 72 gr. a half a gr. at a time with no signs of pressure whatsoever. I should mention this is out of a 26" hart barrel and a trued rem 700 bedded to a A-5 mac. with this load I shot a 2-1/4" three shot group @ 675yds. last week. This is not typical!! usually I shoot around a 4" group at that range when I do my part. I actually had the best accuracy at 72gr. @ 3100fps, I did not feel that it was safe though, even though I did not see pressure signs. I only worked past my 70gr. load to establish that it was not a borderline unsafe load, which I feel it is not. I have shot this load up to 92 degrees with no trouble. as always start low and work up. AL
