7mm rem mag speed

Hogdon shows 69.5gr of h1000 behind 180vld as max. With a 28" barrel I'm getting 2956fps with 180hybrids

I shoot the 168 Classic Hunter Bergers in my 24in at 3015 FPS. I am at about 1.5 grains below my Guns max with RL26 also. I would go up in charge or change powders as those speeds seem a little slow to me.

What FPS would be considered "slow" and what's "fast" with 175gr Bullets in 7mmRemMag?

Slow would be anything under 2900fps in my opinion, and fast would be anything over 3000fps. The node seems to be around 2930-2970.

I'm getting good groups at 2,815 with 63.5gr of RL23 and 175ABLR's.

I always wanted to try and get it going 100fps faster but I have a few hundred loaded up already and my dope down too.....but it's tempting;)

If it's shooting well for you and you're happy with it, there's nothing wrong with that. Just to put into perspective, I have a .284 Winchester with a long throat. I push 175 Berger's at 2855fps with 54.2gr of RL23 with no pressure signs. If I were to build a 7mm Rem Mag, I'd expect 100fps gain over my .284 Win.

Wow Jud that's amazing! 40fps faster than rem mag load with almost 10gr less powder. Why is that?

I forgot to add that I am shooting a 26" stainless Criterion barrel

If you're not up to pressure, then your velocities will be low. I'm sure I'm close to the top end, but if you were to push yours a little more you would probably gain a good bit of speed. Switching to a slower powder and taking advantage of your larger case capacity would also allow you to gain a lot more velocity.

Seems a little slow to me, I get 2850 from mine running the same 175 grain.
I have done the first portion of the Scott Saterlee 10 round load development for my 7 mm rem mag. I am using H1000, federal case, federal 215 primers and 175gn Accubond LR. I found a real nice node with speeds of 2719, 2722, and 2715 at 63.8, 64.0 and 64.2 grns and they grouped sub MOA. Is 2700 FPS a considered a slow speed for the 7 mm in 175 grain bullet.

I'm pushing a 180 eld at 3149 out of this barrel. 30". My last barrel was 26 and I was at 3050 with a 180.

full length size only when they are starting to get hard to chamber. The more you f/l size, the better chance you have at getting the dreaded bulge right above the belt. Neck sizing is the way to go with belted cases.
