7mm lapua imp, 7mm allen mag. What is your expeciences?

I am wanting a gun to push the 195's hard. I am not worried at all about barrel life. I will do a quick load up and data and be done. I am building this rifle so that I don't feel under gunned when I am not packing my edge imp. So what has anyone seen from barrel life and 500-800 rounds? And velocities out of a 27" barrel, what is realistic? I have seen 3250-3350 fps. If someone has one built would you sell me a piece of brass to get a reamer built as well. Thanks

You could always just build a 7mm Edge... That way you don't have to have a special action. You can just build on a RUM action, but maybe modify for a Wyatt's extended mag box and follower.

Yeah I do not want any more calibers that are on the rum case. A 7mm-300 rum would be a disaster and finding 7 rum brass is like finding a black jesus.

I just figured since you already have 338 Edge brass, it would be simple to allocate some of those cases and neck them down for a 7mm Edge. It was just a thought.

No, thank you I do appreciate it. Just having a 300 and edge on the rum I am not wanting to run chances of getting something screwed up. The lapua brass always seems to be available. Was thinking norma but it will only do 3100 with the 195.
