7 SAUM Clone XP Load Development

Load development on Wednesday at Dan Ekstrom's house with a Borden Alpine clone XP-100 center-grip, McMillan stock, Leupold Mark 5HD, Dell trigger built by Michael DeLoach at Nine Run Gun, chambered in 7mm SAUM with the 160 grain Barnes LRX (Norma brass, H-4350, and Redding Comp dies).
3-Shot group at 100 yards off of a portable bench. Extreme Spread was around 9 if I remember correctly.
MV may wind up closer to 2660ish. 15.9" Brux 8T barrel, and Holland brake.
Looking forward to future drop configurations at distance.

Last target is 11-shots, all different powder charges in 1/2 grain increments.
Yes, I recognize that this is just one three-shot group, but it still put a smile on my face.

That 3 shot group can get a lot worse and still be great! Thats the way I look at those .

Most certainly.
As long as it was sub half, it would be fine for what I am doing with it.
I will always take tighter.
I also know the more shots I shoot in a group, will inevitably enlarge the group size.

A couple of Remington Custom Shop XP-100's (223 Remington and 35 Remington).
Then a full blown custom XP-100 with a McMillan stock, octagon barrel in 7mm BR. Also has a external bolt stop/bolt release.

Hey, you keep talking with Ernie and you'll definitely end up with a bolt action pistol or two! I have a 6 CM and a 25 CM thanks to Ernie's influence. The 25 is on a Borden alpine and the 6 is a Kauger black widow. They're a lot of fun to shoot.
