6ARC bolt action pet load?

Prior post on 1st page of thread

Hey guys,
The 6mm Arc is easily my favorite round to shoot
I've been shooting my 6 Arc bolt gun for almost 2 years
26.5" barrel MTU contour 1-7.5 twist Origin action in an Oryx Chassis built by DPG in Arizona
Since day 1 it has shot great and still does
Round count is 3k plus
I'm not a hunter or into shooting groups at 100 yards
95% of those rounds are at 600-850 yards
Lots of Hornady Black and ELD-M, my rifle prefers 105 grain bullets
Powders I have tried are Leverevolution, Varget, Cfe223, and recently VV N540 at various charge weights
Tried them in hot, cold and everything in between temperatures
I'm thinking of trying Shooters World Tactical or maybe Match Rifle next
I have tried Berger 105 BT Target, Berger 105 VLD Target, Berger 105 Hybrid Target, Berger 105 VLD Hunting, Berger 95 VLD Hunting, Sierra 87 Grainers, Nosler 105 RDF and Hornady 105 BTHP again at various charge weights and temps
The 3 best bullets in my rifle are
(1) Berger 105 VLD Hunting (2) Hornady 105 BTHP (3) Berger 105 Hybrid Target
Best powder for my rifle easily the Leverevolution, I don't care about temp sensitivity it's up to me as the shooter to adjust to that
Most consistent combo Leverevolution and Berger 105 VLD Hunting, next would be the Hornady BTHP
Average velocity is within 10fps for both the VLD and the Hornady so I use 2850fps as an average

26.5 inch X-caliber MTU contour 1:7.5 twist
Info I got was 25.3 gr minimum to 27.7 maximum
Loads were 2.30 coal
27-27.3 was best in my rifle but still below 2800fps
Again shot .52-.63 groups at 100 but not consistent enough for me out past 600
How far below 2800 was the N540? 2750 would work for me.

Mine is a 26" 7 twist Patriot Valley Arms Osprey barrel. Have a PVA Jet Blast brake on it.

Good looking barrel for sure
Should shoot great
I have 3 brakes from PVA and they all work exceptionally well
Don't remember exact velocity but 27.7 is supposed to be up to 2850
If you're shooting for groups at 100 yards I think the VV would be excellent if you do some good load development
Might have worked for me at long distances if I did more development
The LVR combo has proven itself so far out 850 yards
It'll do at least Moa on a bad day and shoot lights out on a great day
I have shot many a 4-6 inch 5 shot groups at 850 yards, too many to count
2 best groups just under 3 inches on my best days
I don't even shoot for groups anymore
Just shoot at small targets to see how many times in a row I can hit them
Small being 1-4 inch steels and I'll still hang the 6", 8" and 12"x20" IPSC sometimes when I'm feeling a little off
My favorite small targets are Golf balls at 600 and 850 yards

Thanks. Yeah I have other Ospreys and they all shoot great and been using the brakes for years. Still have an original Mad Scientist on my .223. PVA is a great outfit.

I am just trying to get into that 2750-2800fps area. If I want 2900+ I have a 6 Creedmoor for that. Just trying to find an available powder that isn't temp sensitive and gives me those velocities. Might have to try LVR too.

LVR is temp sensitive
I've shot in upper 90's Florida heat and in the mid 30's also
.5 mil diference at 850
Normally 7 mils at 850, in the cooler temps as much as 7.5 mils with my particular load

If I'm going fast I shoot my 22 Creed
That thing is fun to shoot
Very flat and cuts the wind really well
26" X-caliber MTU on that one also
My 6.5 Creed has a 24" 4R Shilen Sendero contour, another really nice shooter and super easy to clean

Next build is 7MM PRC
Barrel and Headspace gauges will arrive Tuesday according to tracking
26" Shilen 4R Heavy Palma contour
Excited about that one too

Rob01 your 6 ARC will have little recoil with that brake on it
You can shoot it all day and not feel beat up at all

Match rifle: Savage Mod action
Trigger: Rifle Basix 2oz
Barrel: PAC-Nor Super Match
Stock: GRS Custom Bench Rest
Scope: Sightron SIII 36x Target Dot

I have had good luck with varget also in my gas gun. 108 Berger Elite Hunters 2550fps 18" barrel. Can't remember charge weight but it's just barely starting to crunch powder when I get it seated
