Hey everyone.
Haven't shot my match rifle for a year(little kids and all that lol) anyways, had a load built 40.8 of h4350 behind a 109 hybrid. Had my drops line up to 3056fps. .299 g7. I use a kestrel so density altitude is accounted for. Went out yesterday, drops were off, checked my zero then marched it back out, was coming up with 3160 fps. The gun hasn't had a bunch of rounds, under 150. Speed seemed fast to me, there's not really any pressure signs on the brass. Wanted to check on other people's 6creed velocities, oh it's a 26" barrel
 
Tight tolerance creeds and prcs will do this more times than not.
 
Is that a measured velocity, or the velocity that makes your ballistic calculator match real world drop? If it is true velocity, it seems a little high. If it is the velocity that trues up your calculator, it is off and so is other data in the calculator.
 
Its velocity to match drops.
I use a kestrel, so unlikely other data is wrong per se in the ballistic calculator, zero is good, scope tracking could be the issue, causing the wrong drops, definitely needs some more looking into.

I imagine if you chrono it velocity would be lower. It is possible that the B.C. is off a little or that the scope height over bore is slightly off as well, or anything else that the Kestrel doesn't automatically account for.
 
This is where it pays to work off actual velocity rather than working off drops solely to get what is believed correct data.
Firstly, B.C. is not constant, so it cannot be relied upon to match a velocity spat out because of drop numbers.
There are too many variables, even with a Kestrel to reliably get the correct outcomes.

You need to run your load over a chronograph to get true data. Then verify drops.
