I was playing with my .081 free bore barrel sitting on my desk and the Berger 140 VLD's and the 142 ELDx and decided on a .180 free bore as a middle of the road to fit in an internal Savage center feed WSM magazine. That put the Berger's up a good amount from the case neck shoulder junction but the ELDs down into the case as they have a much shorter boat tail length and are a longer bullet. Seating the ELD's to optimum wouldn't fit in the mag. This was based of an estimated optimal charge of H1000 at 61 gr plus or minus and approximately 95% case capacity.
