6.5 saum or 6.5 wsm

I do have a bore scope but use it at work. Will bring it home tomorrow and have a look. Cleaned it when I brought it home may not have gotten it good enough. Have purchased rifles before from pawn shops with this same intent and ended up keeping them as they are and found some shooters. The way I figure I'm not out anything. This rifle is a Savage model 11 large ring and didn't appear to be shot much. I know I couldn't find that action for $250. Never the less I am curious if I can get 300 WM performance before I move on. I just haven't run into this problem yet.
