6.5 prc to 7ss?

Hey all,
I want to convert my 6.5 prc Proof MTR to a 7ss. What's the best way to do this? My current rifle is a 24" proof barrel on a Zermatt arms origin short action. Thanks for your help!

Did you ever do this? All you would need is a new barrel chambered, dies, brass, and bullets.

No I haven't yet… still might, but going to see how the 6.5 handles elk

It'll handle elk just fine. 15 African animals taken in July solidified my assessment of that in addition to a number of elk.

Awesome! What projectile were you using?

I was using the 143 Bondstrike and my buddy was using 147 ELD-M.

The 147 probably performed better but all were very dead.

Ok would think either a hammer like the 129 abosulute or the 124hammer hunter, or the 156 Berger would be some good combos for elk.

Yeah, I've taken an elk with the 124 HH. Works fine.

I'll be using 124HH for shots under 300 and 156 for everything beyond this season for elk
