6.5 Creedmoor velocity in shorter barrels

For those of you with 6.5 Creemore specialty pistols, what are you getting for velocity with 140-143-147 gr bullets with barrels in the 15”-18” length range?

I’ve got a 7mm-08 XP and was considering rebarrelling it to 6.5 Creedmoor.

I may very well keep it a 7mm-08. Ballistically, I’m getting 2650 FPS with 150gr ABLR bullets (StaBall 6.5 powder) and a 15” bbl, so that puts it in the same ball park out to about 600 yds.

I have a 15" 2008 in 6.5 CM. With an upper-mid range charge of StaBall 6.5 I get 2480fps using 140 grain bullets. I'm running around 43 grains. The design of the handgun I have causes it to pierce primers below book max for most high pressure cartridges, so you should be able to get more with an XP.

I’d keep the 7-08 personally.

It's probably not worth switching. Besides the lower charge weight you won't gain much. You'll probably end up with nearly identical ballistics from a slightly lighter bullet. If you ever need to rebarrel it might be worth considering, but I wouldn't swap it just until then.
