375 Effective Range

Hi All,

What would you estimate the effective (comfortably?) range of a .375 RUM pushing a 350 gr SMK at 2700 fps? Assume elk sized game and 8000' elevation. . .

Well Adam, there's a lot of variables here and one of them is YOU!! The cartridge and bullet combos you listed will work out to 1000 yards without question BUT the bigger question is what are you and your shooting skills capable of. With a good Nightforce, 10-42 and a great rest you could hit anything you would like. A great range finder..a little ballistic calculator and your in business, also YOU yourself need lots of range time before you even attempt to do this.... Frank
