35 whelen

I have an older Rem 700 CDL it was my back up only gets limited use. Has been bedded with pillars shoots very good with factory ammo. If interested PM me

I have one of the Hawkeye African in transit. I had hawkeye in the special run Grices did a few years ago. It shot fantastic. Sold it like a fool. These African Hawkeyes look like a perfect set up for a 35 whelen. Can't wait to get it this weekend and put a few down range.

I think you will be happy, I've been piddling with mine a little, bedded the action and done a little file work to take pressure off the magazine box, put in a ernie the gunsmith trigger spring..BTW if you don't already have one of his springs I suggest you order one, they are around 8 bucks and make a big difference in the pull + super easy fingers only install. I bought one of these rifles in 6.5x55 when they came out and it has a home for life..good luck

Here it tis.... not fancey....durable,reliable I would not hesitate on shots out to 500 on elk....
My eyes,my knees my body won't take mountain hunting no more.... hunted with relatives and friends...never hired a guide, just a working man.
I never needed another man to tell me when to shoot....

Judd, if you don't find the 35 Whelen you want, or if the price is too high, there is another option. Have JES Reboring turn any .25-06, .270 Win or .30-06 into a 35 Whelen for you. Costs about $275. He's done one for me, and has my 2nd one in his shop now. The first one shoots sub 1/2 MOA with Barnes factory ammo.

His website isn't much, but his machining is top-notch. Best of luck in your search,

Keith
WOW getting a new cartridge with new chamber and rifling in an older rifle for $300.00.
Those 35 calibers are Knockouts on the first punch!!!!
Good luck with this project.

Any interest in a 35 Whelen AI? I have one built on a Whitworth action and the dies to go with it. Let me know if you want to see pics.

Sorry, I am traveling until Monday and did not get a chance to pull it out of the safe
