338 Norma Mag Reloading powder

I have just bought some Reloader 22 for my 338 Norma Mag.
Was using Ramshot Magnum, has anyone used these powders or do you have any suggestions.

22 is fast for the Norma though I've seen a load listed pushing the 300 SMK. I've used Magnum pushing 300 SMK, and Nosler CC and I believe we ran it with the 285 Hornady ELD-M. Results were…..meh. H1000 is always a solid choice along with Retumbo and VVN570. I've found that IMR 7977 is a great powder for the Norma and 8133 works but is slow. RL33 is also a great choice. The caveat here is that I only shoot 300 grain bullets at this point so that's all I can really reference.

I am waiting for the weather to cooperate so I can get out and try Retumbo with 300 gr bergers. Second choice will be H1000

please post results as i only use Ramshot Magnum or H1000. I would have thought RL22 was a bit fast and they recommend the RL33 dont they? Anyway let us know!

It is hard to provide a recommendation when you do not give the bullet and weight you are loading like what @Mikiedem provided.

Here's what I got from Berger for the 300g.

and in case you are considering the 250g.

I have a .338 NMI and loaded some 250s with 91.5g of Magpro (trying out powders I have already opened) to fire-form off the chamber. I have all the powders listed but have Magpro, LRT, and Magnum the most. Good luck!

I use Retumbo and LRT in my 338 NM with 300gr bullets. H1000 didn't work as well for me in two different barrels. RL33 was too dirty... n570 I'd use just haven't worked up a load yet

RL33 is filthy but produces pretty good velocities. I'm running 88 grains of IMR 7977 behind the 300 grain A-Tips at 2754 FPS. Of course your mileage may vary, proceed at your own risk.

Trying to upload target at 100yds using RL22 (81gr)and Ramshot Magnum (91gr).
Right target RL22, left Ramshot.
Didn't have my FPS meter set up, remember I'm new to this.

My opinion is that both powders are very similar but will continue to tweak the recipe.
