300 RUM with RL33 and RL26

Great thanks ! I didn't know RL25 was slower than RL26 ? I've tried IMR8133 also. Not much luck. Retumbo is going to be hard to beat.

I use R25 for hunting round and H1000 for LONG RANGE.

I have a 300 RUM in a Remington 700, 24" barrel. I'm using 86.5 grains of RL26 under a 212gr Hornady ELDX with fed 215 primers, (OCL 3.80), not utilizing magazine. Velocity averages 3068 and shoots under 1/2 MOA.
BTW no muzzle brake either. It took a lot of fine tuning but it's a shooter....

A lot of guys say the TTSX works best at high velocity...so you've got that!

I just picked up some 230 bergers and I have some H-1000 . I will give them a spin in my two stock 300 Rums as soon as Montana Spring bear season closes .

I send them out at 4030 from my 30-378 Wby. 113 of RL22.

Start in the low 90s with RL33 and 230 grain Berger's with federal 215m primers. Work up until you find pressure. This is an awesome combination.

Does anybody have any starting load data for RL 33 in a 300 RUM ? Any favorite loads with any bullet ? Having a hard time finding . I haven't acquired any of the magic 26 dust yet but plan to try it also. Been using Retumbo for years. Be hard to beat. Have also used RL25 and H1000. Bought some IMR 4000 that havent tried yet. Not much data on it either. Thanks to all in advance. You guys are great and always are a great help .

I'll bring up same question with 300 win mag and 7 Rem mag load data later with same powders . Maybe 6.5 PRC.

What length barrel ? I tried 100.0 grains RL33 with a 200 gr. ELDX yesterday . Rem case Fed 215 match. I had ave. 3152 ES 21 SD 14. No pressure signs. Not good numbers but was 1 in at 100 with 2 in one hole. Thanks Bobcat19 !

About 10 years ago I was into the speed thing. I never shot anything lighter than a 150 in my rum because it was a grenade hitting an animal unless a Barnes TSX . I was getting 3630 with a 150 . 103 grs. Retumbo. 3360 with 180 and 100.0 grs. Retumbo. Settled on 98 grs.

I will. Tried 210 VLD yesterday with 91 grs. Retumbo. Ave. 2968 SD 6 ES 13. Accurate no pressure at all. Will try heavier load next time and with H1000.
