Update on my reloads for my 300 PRC with H1000 and Barnes 190 gr LRX:
I was really disappointed in the load development for this powder/bullet combination yesterday after tested them. Just for kicks, I started looking into the gun. Started with the scope, rings, and mounts. I found the the front screws of the mount came loose. One piece EGW mount. When I initially installed them I used loctite like always do. I may have missed torquing them down or they actually worked loose. I'll have to keep in eye on them. May have to have them drilled out to 8-40 screws.

Here's two different groups on different days with RL 26 and 225 and 230 pills
Good to know for the 190 gr LRX and H1000. On my 199 gr HH, I saw 3023 fps and 3028 fps for my 2-shots with 80.5 gr H1000; X-bolt Pro 26" barrel. 81.0 gr H1000 gave 3063 fps and 81.5 gr gave 3081 fps. I'm going to try more near the 80.5 gr H1000 load to see.
Don't give up on H1000. Try different bullets.
depending on distance and game type you are hunting
berger are really good in the 215 gr range for longer ranges along with accubonds in the 200 grain range for the rest.
also try playing around with your neck tension. Try .003 pinch and maybe a large primer instead of a magnum. You would be surprised what those two May do towards your groups

You're going to want to stick with the Magnum primer with that much powder and for hunting if it's cold.
really Not sure on that. but I guess you probably could.
my Go to load for the past 20 years has been a 300 WM with h1000 using F210 primers.
I've hunted from south Texas to Dryden Canada. The low one year in Canada was -26. Worked just fine in that cold.

You can always use standard large rifle primers, but anything over 70 plus grains Magnum primers will help with consistency in ignition. It's the consistency you want, not just ignition.
In my 300WM I use 210's but for larger case volume rounds I'm running magnums

It's the go to for 300 PRC, like H4350 for 6.5 gaymore, H1000 for 300 WM, n570 for 300 Norma...
It's hard to beat

I have some 200 LRX to try in mine but for now I'm super happy with 225 Eldm's and H1000. This is cold bore plus 2.
Unless you shoot in 80°+ temp swings that top out over 100°... I wanted to love it, just can't deal with the high temp instability.
Any updates? Curious about accuracy and on-game performance.
