I'll preface this question by saying I am completely new to loading ammunition, I'm using a company that will load to your specifications as I don't have all of the powders equipment or projectiles yet.
I have a 300 Norma built on a lone peak razor action with a proof barrel that I'm just getting started with. I shot factory federal premium with 215 hybrids for the first 60 rounds to break it in. Once I was done with that I used the Hornady OAL gauge and comparator to take chamber measurements to have a load development box worked up. I watched quite a few videos on how to properly measure, took multiple measurements over multiple days using an igauging original.
My concern is that overall the measurement seemed short compared to all the other loads I had seen people post here and on other forums.
My OAL with 212 eldx was 3.4600 and my bto was 2.8030.
Does this seem short to anybody else? How how may I have messed measuring my chamber up?
Thanks!
