300 BO AR Pistol

We are looking to sell our .223 SBR and go with a 300 BO AR Pistol. Anyone have one and can give use some advice? It will be used for Home Protection and in our vehicle in case we run into some Hogs or a Yote. Going to Suppressed barrel and suppressed ammo. Looking for some good, suppressed sub sonic loads with fast expanding bullets. Powder used/Bullets.
Not looking to spend a lot of $$$ and doing a completely new build. Just want a well-built Pistol AR that's accurate sub MOA.
What would be the optimum barrel length.
We already have Reflex Sights and Lasers but welcome ideas.

I HAVE 2 8.5" AERO PRECISION 300BO BARRELS (darn cats walking on the kb again). neither has an agb, but i've only shot supers and no suppressor. it you reload for it you can tune them for the barrel length of your choice. going factory subs i couldn't help. 8-10" to me is the sweet spot. suppressor will make a difference on cycling like a hux works flow threw. subs can run from 190-240gr. i've only loaded up to 185's (lapua bt-fmj's). my powders are h110/ww296/aa1680/lil gun w/cci450's. all are made for supers. just keep the 223 you have and change the barrel, handguard and gas lengths as needed. lowest dollar way to go.

Maybe I am misreading your post - what about keeping the SBR lower and adding a 300 BO upper? (maybe that is what you are doing). I bought a Palmetto State Armory "deal" on a 9-inch 300BO that came complete. Set it up unsuppressed running Barnes 110s for an ultra-short rig. I picked up a used Seekins 300BO upper and I am running it suppressed with 220s.

I am shooting the maker bullets, I reload mine. They are used in ammo by some manufacturers now. They are great at low velocity. I have a 16" pistol length for subsonic but don't use mine for home defense, just hunting.

Scott not keeping the SBR Lower and changing it. Once your paperwork on a SBR you need to keep the firearm the same without modifying.
Just looking for a fast/easy way to get a 300 BO Pistol for use subsonic.
We have probably more that (4) ARs we can build with all the parts we have. Just need a Barrel, short Handguard and Pistol Stock. Will probably just build one.
Or cheap/easiest way to buy the Palmetto upper and a pistol stock. We already have several Lowers.

You already have a lower, that's an SBR. The SBR lower doesn't have squat to do with the upper you attach to it...so there's no reason to sell it just to have a less accurate, less adjustable, less usable PISTOL lower. Especially when you could wait 3 months, and do another SBR and avoid the $200 stamp anyway. Come January...AR pistols will be a waste of money. I'll be surprised if anyone continues to sell them.

Simply buy a 300blk upper or barrel whatever length you want, and put it on your existing SBR lower. Done.

You're not modifying the lower only changing cartridge. If you're changing from an sbr to pistol then that makes sense, but cartridge differences shouldn't make any difference unless you had it sent in as 223rem. I build everything (nearly everything) when it comes to AR's so I've never purchased a sbr only a complete pistol lower.

Are you going to build your own or buy complete? I know you have the skills, but trying to see where you're going/headed.

Seems like the sbr route would be the better over a pistol. Buffer tube lengths are nearly the same and could shoulder it. Just figured that would be the easy button and cost less.
