Need data for Norma 217 for bullets in the 178-212 range.

Tried US869 on 212 grain ELD-X and it would only group in the 2800fps range.
Used 50bmg and same thing just a little faster around 3000fps.

Best load with speed was 100 grains of H1000. Factory Accumark rifle which grouped around 3/4 to 1 1/4 inches at 100. Little larger than the factory Accubonds he shoots at 3450fps with consistent 3/4 inch groups. Still need to test at longer ranges but snow needs to melt off and Wyoming wind needs to slow down just a tad. It never stops blowing completely.

Hornady 212 ELD-X, C.O.A.L. is 3.646, Fed215M, WBY brass, 100grs H1000, 3140fps @ 6500ft 60*F

For you wanting to experiment with this load work up as usual and at own risk. I'm still working and testing this load. Group opened up at 101 grains but didn't exhibit pressure signs .

Thought I'd try Norma 217 with the 178(backorder) or 200gr ELD-X but can't find data and all the new Norma manuals are gone and on backorder.

I know not everybody wants to go fast. This isn't my rifle and my brother likes them fast. I'm just the one trying to get him there. Thanks.

No one has the Norma expanded edition?

If so, are the numbers close to the discontinued MRP-2 numbers listed in the older manual for 30-378?

So frustrated that Norma makes a powder for this rifle and doesn't give you a clue on how to use it. Heck, Hornady, at the least, has given us some data for it's new ELD bullets. Norma acts like it's top secret info or is forcing you to buy the manual, which is fine, if they made enough of them. I can't find any online. Their online support is also a joke. The email link doesn't even work. If these guys really want us to buy their products....then help us out.

Sorry. Like I said, frustrated.

The 6.5 Creedmoor could only dream of doing what this gun can do. Why do people keep trying to make a Cal. do something it wasn't intended or designed to do, I would buy the gun that was designed to do what I wanted it to. A lot cheaper and less time consuming. Good luck hunting and be safe.

From the new Norma manual:
180gr Oryx
110.3gr N217
WLRM Primers
3.587 col
3,372 fps

Thats the only bullet in the weight class you inquired about. I'd check out QL to find some starting loads.
