30-06 Sierra Game King 165 Grain Loads

I've got my late father's 1:10 twist Interarms Mark X 30-06 I'm considering as a deer season project. Larry Potterfield had some 165 grain Sierra Gamekings in stock so I grabbed a box and plan on working up a load.

I've got H4350 and also some Ramshot Hunter along with CCI BR-2s. Anyone got some pet loads for this classic bullet? I'd like to make the Ramshot Hunter work so I don't get into my 4350 stash lol

I have not used Ramshot Hunter, but the Ramshot Big Game powder worked well on some loads for a buddy's 30-06. Good luck, and have a good hunt.

I got great accuracy from the 165 GK many years ago. Big Game is better suited to the 30-06. Cant remember the load I used.

Bit more than what's in the book today but old load that is still in use with my best friend. 53.3 IMR 4064 2950 FPS.

I used H4350 in my '06 with 165 grain bullets. But I wouldn't hesitate to use Hunter. A little google research will show you that a lot of guys are having excellent success with it and you will also get good velocity with it. I think over on 24 hr campfire is where that is a popular powder with the 30-06. Good luck

There is data for Hunter with 30-06 loads. Looks like a compressed load will bring some decent velocity.

On the Ramshot website they list loads for 165 gr bullets but not Sierra for some reason.
They do list 168 gr MK 59.5 max loads.

55-58grs. of Hunter works fine on 175gr Sierra's so, Ya might get er up a grain or 2 with 165's.Good Luck

Excellent accuracy in my '06 with 165s and IMR4350 using Nosler's "max" load (which was under max but very accurate for me)..suspect you should be able to achieve similarly with H4350. I would work up from 55 up to ~58 grains if you go that route with the H4350
