.30-06 and IMR 4955 or Superformance

Get a .30 mag or you may get a bolt in the eye.

Thank you for the concern, appreciate it.

The problem was with the 1903s was with the early S/Ns. Have not read about issues with A3s, maybe there are out there, just have not read about them. The old problem was with heat threat, I have a friend from the NE who lost an eye early on shooting one of those.

I have 4 bolt guns in 300WM, a 30 Nosler, and a few 30 cal gas battle rifles. Why am I messing with the 1903a3? It is just a fascination with the old workhorse. I am a speed freak on all my weapons, not on the 03, and 30 cal battle rifles gas guns. I do not push the pressure on them.

Did you ever have a case fail? I did. A 7X57 in a 98 Mauser large ring. Luckily it was the ring that diverted the gas up to hit me in the forehead and not the glasses/eyes. It was like getting hit in the forehead with a baseball bat. Almost knocked me out. You do not want that.
Do what you want but I would stop pressing your luck if it was me.

No, using 67 LC match, all once fired. Have a couple of 50 cal cans full. Going through them, have yet to fire any the 3rd time.

Here is my 30-06, 180gr RN. I like IMR4350 about 5% below max. This target is 100yds off hand.

I've not achieved any better velocity using any enduron powders than I have with equivalent other powders, 4451,4955,7977 in the 257 Roberts, 270 win, 7rm, 257 wby.
