260 Rem group

Hello
What kind of range should one expect from shooting a very light 85 gr. Sierra ? Absolutely single hole at 100, touching at 200, very respectable at 300, then gone after that. Is the bullet just simply too light for further range? Thank You

What twist rate are you firing them out of? ... if you are at an 8 twist or faster, you may be spinning them apart at farther distances ...

Yes Sir it is a 8 twist - I will need to use them up on closer prairie dogs!

I have a 7twist 223 that rips apart 50g vmax beyond 250 as the barrel begins to warm up ... was the strangest sensation when I saw 2 impacts the first time - one to the left and one to the right of the p-dog I was shooting at ...

You might have better luck with the 95g vmax's ... my dad shoots those through his 260 ackley and it is an 8 twist ... so far no known mid air blow ups ...

Try using 6.5 SBK 105s great on dogs, chucks in a .260 - 8 twist or even go to 123 SMK
