I am looking into building @ 257STW with Remington 700 action. Can this be done using a 7MM Rem. magnum action or do I have to find an 8mm mag action?

7mm will work just fine. In fact thats what Kirby Built my 257 stw off of. You will love it!

Any Rem 700 set up for a belted magnum will be a drop in fit for the 257 STW. Does not matter if its a standard length magnum such as the 7mm Rem Mag or 338 Rem Mag or a full length magnum such as the 7mm STW, 300 Wby or the like, all the same receiver with the Rem 700s.
