.243 or 6 Creedmoor for my daughters first rifle

6.5 Creedmoor, no question.
This bullet, from 120 grains through 147, 150 grains, in a 1:8 twist barrel has the best Ballistic Coefficient (BC) by far of the two bullets and that's why so many competitive shooters use it, including myself. No competition podium winners use the .243 Win.

Plus the 6.5 Creedmoor case neck design permits the use of longer (heavier) bullets than the old .243 Win. With these much heavier bullets than the .243 Win. you can go from antelope to elk (143 gr. Hornady ELD-X) with confidence.
