Can't remember off the top of my head but I do t shoot anything that won't keep 1.5" group at 300 yards. I let that slip a bit to Moa if in a gas gun like my ar10. But even that is shooting under moa. Took a nice size pig last year in Texas with it at 530 yards. Nice exit and very little elevation correction because it's very fast

I have a 24" 1:8 twist Remington 700. I get great accuracy with all of these using IMR4350 and N550.

90 Nosler Accubond
100 Sierra 1540
100 Sierra 1560

I tested 4 powders with each one at .2 grain increments down from max to see the consistent POI. Those powders work with my rig.

You simply cannot beat the Nosler Partition. Best bullet on the market, bar none! With one caveat, some rifles simply don't like them. Sad but true. I've had a couple I've had to sell because I couldn't find a powder/bullet that would shoot to my standards, 1 moa at 100. I won't hunt big game with any other bullet. They make 85, 95, and 100 gr. I've always done well with the 95 gr.

The only complaint I've ever heard, other than they might not shoot in a given rifle, is that on close range shots they work too well, ruining a lot of meat. I don't have a problem with that, I'd rather lose some meat than lose an entire animal.

There are copycats out there that also work well but I always stick with the Nosler's. They've worked for me for over 40 years of hunting big game from little Coues deer to elk, from .22 cal. to .338 Win mag. I have no complaints at all and very highly recommend them!

This is my powder test with the 90 Accubonds. You can see the upper left has the most consistent POI out of the 5 powders tested. Best N550 and second best IMR4350. All are 10 shots from 2 grains under up to max.

I have had much success with the Hormady 87 bthp. It is not a hp that acts as a varmint hp. Call it harder. It endures and exits deer shoulder meat and blades. Ive shot it in 10 and 8 twist barrels. Both have shot subMOA. Son shot 6 deer and pronghorn in 6 shots. All front-of-the-front-leg broadside hits and drt. 6 for 6 without a run. Later front-on shots also gave acceptable kills and penetration to the hips.
The hornady 100 btsp is equal to the 87, but the lead nose can deform a bit in the magazine.
90BT also shoots and performs well in a tikka t3 10 twist.
I find the 85TSX too hard and not widely-enough wounding.
4831 powders give me easy accuracy.

Well i have read 5 pages of posts and have to add this because no one else has. My brother and i have both used 87 Berger vld hunting (they make match also) for over 10 years and only animal that we did not get was an antelope that a bad shot was made. Nothing bigger than whitetail but watched most go down in sight. That being said you might try 95 grn, same style bullet with 8 twist.

That's what I like to hear. I like the heavier bullets as I'm so use to 150-180 in 30 cal. But I sure like the 243 for basically no recoil

I've been using the 95 classic hunter in my 6mm rem this season and I have 4 kills with them so far from 150-470 yards. I didn't recommend them here because I don't have a ton of experience yet on close range shots yet. All four died in short order though. They're hell on woodchucks too.

I'm new to reloading for 243. I'm looking for a good bullet for deer that is accurate and does well on deer and occasional hog. 50-300 yards. What are yall shooting? Looked at ttsx, hammer bullets, game kings and eld-x. Any one have any suggestions or experiences. Or any other recommendations?

Also I'm shooting a tikka t3 what loads are y'all using? Powder? Sorry loaded question

Pretty much any 243Win bullet will kill a deer at 50-300 yds if hit in a kill zone. Just pick one and see if it shoots small groups in YOUR rifle. A particular bullet may not shoot well in your buddy's 243Win, but that is totally irrelevant in YOUR rifle. Use whatever shoots well in yours. I use IMR4350 and H4350. The H4350 is much more temp stable.

Interesting…but haven't tried them.
Nosler came out with a solid base 100 grain 6mm bullet.
If they are anything like the old "solid base" bullets, they should do quite well.

I'm going to have to check them out. Back in the day,I really liked the Nosler solid base. A good friend found a pile of 30 cal solid base at a gun show. I begged for a few boxes. He's a good friend , but not stupid,I didn't get any of them. There's nothing I'd like to see more than to see those old solid base come back.
