20 moa rail and scope clearance

I just put together a rifle with a Remington factory barrel, EGW 20 moa HD base, Vortex Seekins built low rings and Leopold vx6 with a 44 mm objective. The scope sits higher than I would like. Would there have been a better ring base combo that would have shortened the height or is this just the nature of the beast with 20 moa rails ?

Really just how it is. Unless you can find a lower set of rings you will have that problem. I have low rings and a 20moa rail on one of my Creedmoors and with a 50mm objective I still clear.
