2 Elk Wasted, Poachers.

this post wins the internet for today. Exceptional.

I've found huge bulls with the heads cut off and the rest left to rot.
I've seen multiple bulls shot by the same hunter, as the herd ran past them. They shot a bull and it kept running so they assumed a miss and shot the next bull that ran by. Over and over until there were several on the ground. Then they tagged the biggest one and started cutting.
I've seen shots fired into herds of balled up elk. The exiting bullet striking the elk behind the target elk.
I've seen guys park on private, out of state owned property that borders public. Apparently using onxmaps to determine they out of state owners weren't around.
I've seen big ranches having their hired help herd the elk with quads and trucks and pistols fired into the air to keep the elk on the property and not cross onto public. Charging 10k for a bull elk, and refusing to let the locals shoot a cow elk after they are done with their profit season. Then complaining to Fish and game the wolves are hurting their livestock and they need help from the state, at taxpayers expense, while still refusing to allow wolf hunters onto the property.
I've seen bull elk sick and down for days, that succumb to natural death. Then transplants from blue states/cities, make a fuss and claim poaching while the dead bull still has his antlers. And demanding the rancher removes the carcass from their sight cause it hurts their feelings. to see true nature that isn't National Geographic edited false reality.
I've seen transplants cut up ranchers fences claiming "fences hurt the migration of animals". And then threatening to sue the ranchers for the damage their cows did after they walked through cut fence.
I could go on for hours but I'm out of coffee and have chores to do.
We are forced to live amongst idiots, who ruin and poison everything they touch with their ignorance, greed, and stupidity.
I have no idea's on how to fix the idiots.
I do however have zero tolerance for fools who do things that ruin my rights, access, and lifestyle. I'm originally from Chicago, and I'm not a rat. But I will call in and report any illegal behavior I see when It comes to hunting, poaching, trespassing, or anything else that makes the hunting regulations book get thicker and thicker every year.
I have to drive THROUGH herds of elk, to get to public land to look for elk. Anyone I see who pokes a barrel out of the truck window, shoots towards houses onto land they have no access to, will be in court at the least.
These people will make the anti-gunners/anti-hunters have more photo's and video to use against us.
Follow the law, hunt hard to earn the meat, and have respect for those of us that got out ahead of you, earlier, to be in the rite spot first.
I'm still trying to figure out what to do about hunters that will see me in my spot, and walk 50 yds in front of me, cigarette smoking, talking, laughing and joking, bumping animals out the whole way. And think it's ok.
Lack of accountability and consequences, in every category, is ruining our country. Some people have no respect for anything or anyone.

There are many reasons animals die unfortunately pockets are one of those reasons. People taking shots that they and their equipment can't make some don't put much effort in to chasing wounded game and I wouldn't put anything past anti hunters could have been hit by a car drug off the road took pictures and the blame game begins last but not least anyone that has hunted Elk knows they are tough and can cover a lot of ground after being hit

Well said and very true. It's refreshing to hear you passion on many points I share with you and I'm sure many on this site do. Thank you for your post.

It's poachers not pockets sorry

Well gents and ladies...it doesn't end on hunting grounds...several years ago on a little elk refuge near reedsport Oregon someone with a gun(during bow season) shot a couple bulls standing in the posted and restroom area refuge...signs everywhere...so idiots are everywhere....what was the real reason.....who the hell knows....
But it didn't stop there...
There was a bull out there that had a set of antlers that resembled a bull moose....and this is your real Roosevelt 1500# on the hoof bull...he killed several other bulls on the refuge....and someone took it upon themself to kill him.......now whether this was a person with an agenda or the f&g.....dont remember........that bull was incredible.......his genes are gone.....

Well a poacher would use it, imo. I don't think it would be the vegetable killers.
I suspect joy riding AR shooters, from a city of some kind. Poached elk are always snuck out and used by the shooter or reported and used otherwise.
The millenials will shut down hunting as we know it, these are all used for their anti, propaganda. Hunter' s have got to step up to the plate and take on these other groups of disrepute, imo.
Disgusting.

you know the current crop of whiny libtards are gen Z'ers right? All the protests, Antifa losers, and safe space clowns is that generation. I'm a "millennial" and so are all my friends and we love hunting and shooting as much you ole folk, I dare say more.

Need more facts....poachers I can believe. Anti hunters I can't believe would kill game animals. How did that elk die? Was this during the Mich elk season if they even have one? Could just be a stupid deer hunter shooting something brown.

CVCOBRA1 I agree with what you have written in this reply, "except" for not believing that the/an anti-hunter could or would do this. I didn't think that they would saw a tree, inconspicuously, almost to the point where it would break with a tree stand mounted on it. And....that tree did break with a hunter in the stand, and that hunter is now a paraplegic due to those actions. So.... yes I do believe that an anti-hunter would do such a thing! I also believe that there is more information needed in this thread to determine the exact cause of the death of these animals, but also to not rule out anything including the anti's.

A friend of mine lives in Wyoming and had a timber thinning contract with the BLM he found a lot of dead Elk both bulls and cows that had been shot an they where bad hits we all know how far a wounded Elk can travel. We had a guy from Wisconsin in camp we were going out to quarter up an Elk I had shot earlier and haul it back we didn't have enough horses when I shot it so anyway this guy went with it was later still light but getting close to evening so we see another bull on the way this guy gets off the horse is aiming taking his time then click guns not loaded so he throws a round in pow Elk goes down this guy is fiddling around Elk gets up and is gone he stood there like oh well we where no get on that horse and go that's your Elk so my buddy takes off after a three hour or so ride they rode in to camp in the dark good news they got the bull gutted it the went back at first light quartered it and hauled it back he is lucky that it was still there but if he wasn't with us I am sure he would not have put the effort in to find his kill and unfortunately this happens to often

First or second day of hiking in to my hunting spot(that nobody else knows about) I was taking a shortcut back to the truck thru a creek bottom....found this.. 1115190936.jpg
Started trailing the blood...about 200-300 yards...came to an ATV trail and lost it...worked my my up the that creek bottom and saw a couple deer...couldnt tell if it was a buck or wounded....1115190942.jpg
A lot of people give up on trailing blood.....i wish i could have figured out where that one went...but it could have crossed the main gravel road or been the one up the creek....dont know....i enjoy tracking....puts the fun back into the hunt...even if i didn't draw the blood.....
