This is a 'pre-guide gun', Guide Gun, built before Marlin began producing them. BBL has been shortened to 17", and the front sight was re-set in a newly cut dove-tail. It has the straight grip stock. There is a AAA operated flashlight mounted at the end of the magazine tube. It shoots where the light points. Hardly a Long Range Rifle, but works great from one end of the tent to the tent flap.
Though built sometime back, it has had little use and is in great shape. However, there is a small sliver of wood missing on the right side of the tang just behind the receiver flat. This makes a great 'back country' saddle gun and comes w/ a scabbard built for the rifle.
Also, it is not a Marlington.
Can't post pics here, but I can email one, if your are interested.
Thanks,

If the rifle is still available, I would like some pictures please?
