180 hyb seating depths

If H1000 won't shoot I would probably just quit, either the rifle all together or for sure the bullet. I would consider a primer change, before I gave up though and try that one time. Retumbo has been WAY more finicky than H1000 for me, in my experience Retumbo gets better well below pressure signs in a load that is closer to start charges or right close to pressure signs and not much in between. I run Retumbo pretty hard for best results. H1000 for me has shot pretty well just about everywhere in the pressure range.

As stated above I'd move to H1k and start load work at .020 off. I've loaded a few different hybrids including the 180s in a 7 saum and .020 is always close. My saum is running at .018 as . 015-.021 yielded excellent results at 399 yards.

I've shot it to 850 which gave me 4 inch 3 shot groups.

I run a hybrid/retumbo combo in 4 rifles.
I have two 7RMs that shoot 180 hybrids, one is at .035 off and the other is .042 off.
My other two rifles are .022 and .016 off.
My own experience with hybrids hasn't proven to me that they are magically forgiving. I don't find Hammers forgiving/easy either so maybe it's just me. All my current loads will consistantly shoot 1" groups at 300y and one rifle shooting 3/4".

With retumbo all the loads are close to pressure, I've found the best groups in all these rifles is about 30-50 fps below physical signs of pressure (hard extraction, bolt clicking, etc.) I've tested, but never ran the lower nodes. the top end was always just more impressive.
For the 7MMs, I get pressure signs in one rifle around 3070fps and the load is 3020. The other one i get pressure about 3010 and load is for 2970.

A couple loads were worth investigating but loading up and down around them didn't net anything better. Suppose I could play with depths at 69.5 but 72 is getting a little spicy and I'm worried about taking up any more case capacity with deeper seating.
