Without reloading data, I ran a few 180 eldms through my 280ai today. I loaded 53-55 grains of h4831. Not in node but all shot under moa at 200 and climbing on target. No chrono at the moment so I cant share speeds. Does anyone have some experience with this bullet in the 280ai? im not sure where to expect pressure problems. The 160 tmk likes 59 grains and ive loaded to 60.5.

I have had good results using the 180gr ELDM as well as 180 and 195gr Bergers.

I have found that IMR 7828SSC and H1000 as well as RE23 all work well with the heavy 7mm bullets in the 280AI. Some of my loads are as follows. I worked up to these and monitored pressure during workup. No signs of pressure in these loads in my rifle.

Nosler Brass
Fed 210M
59.0gr H1000
180gn Hornady ELDM
2.625" to Ogive
2746fps, SD 12.8
0.34" x 3 shots (shot an IPSC target at a mile with this load as well as a clay pigeon at 1000 yards)

Nosler Brass
CCI BR-2
57.5gr 7828 SSC
180gn Berger Hybrid
2.664" to Ogive
2793fps, SD 7.5
0.22" x 3 shots

180 Berger Hyb
58.0gn RE 23
Fed 210M
2.821" to ogive (~0.020" off)
2923 fps, SD 3.4
0.36" x 3 shots

195 Berger EH
56.5gn RE 23
CCI BR-2
2.814" to ogive (~0.020" off)
2793 fps, SD 14.7
0.38" x 3 shots

thanks! im impressed with the speeds you have especially with the hybrid. im glad I asked. I wasn't sure about getting that much powder in. cant wait to see what they'll do.

just following up... mine came in at 59.6 grains h1000 .020 off. chrono showed 2820 av but I expect real world to be about 40 fps slower once distance is tested as that seems to be the norm with my chrono. thanks for sharing your loads, it helped me out. I didn't think I could hit that upper node but it did! always wanted an ackley, glad I got one!

That's great velocity even if 40 fps slower! Glad to hear your Ackley is a shooter. I am a big fan of H1000. It has been working well in my 338 Norma Mag as well.
