All,
Just checking in on what kind of jump the 156s like in your 6.5 PRCs ? Im scratching my head a bit trying to get these to shoot contestant across a .006 or larger seating depth window.

I have tried different powders, 26 and h1000 and have shot them over my magneto to confirm I am in a node with a low ES.

For seating depth I am testing in .003 increments and I might get a group in the .2-.3's which is good IMO but on +/- .003 on each side of that specific group the next will go to hell @ .75 moa ish.

Of the luck i have had its been around .070 off..

Shot them in my browning McMillan long range at 0.109 off which was mag length and they were awesome and half moa to 1000 yards.

I never load in 0.003 increments !! You must have more money than me or different availability on components than the rest of the world . I always have half moa rifles loading in double digit increments

I seat everything at 2.950 coal and everything shoots lights out. For the 146 that is about 77 thou. Absolute hammers but primarily run 135 a tips.

I would not do 0.003 increments for your batches. Jump 0.020-0.030 in seating depth changes to zero in on what your rifle likes and then fine tune. Components are expensive and hard to come by now. I'm working on a load for the 156s in a new barrel right now. The chamber was cut to SAMMI specs so I have to start 0.035 off the lands due to the internal mag box in my SA. FWIW, my COAL is starting at 3.040 and the loaded rounds just fit.

Groups below are repeatable & consistent. Deviant Hunter XM, Bartlein 24" CF 8-7.5 #4, EH1A.
Lapua brass, GM210M, 57.0 RL26, 156 EOLs seated 10-12 thou off lands @ OAL of 3.1"

My load for 3 years has been 58.2gr of H1000 with the ogive set at 0.015 off. This is with Hornady brass, CCI BR2s, and approx 0.002 neck tension. The 58.2 gr was smack in the middle of a very stable powder node. In my 26in Proof Sendero I get 3040fps ish. Once I found my powder node I shot 30, 25, 20 and 15 off. They all shot great, but 15 shot sub-0.5 MOA. I think that first group was 0.8xx in. at 200 yards.

Agreed, I'd go up to 0.005 increments at least if not more to save components.

My 6.5 prc works best at 0.090 off the lands with the 156 EOL's with r26 and I had the throat lengthened 0.025 so I could seat them at the junction and it shoots better than I can.
