15 x 70 binoculars

Can anybody tell me if 15 x 70 binoculars are too big or sensitive to use as handheld w/o a tripod for just a short period of time?
How about 20x80? I'm going to buy something but I really need to be able to pick them up and step out the door to use them. A pair that absolutly requires a tripod is of no use to me at this point in time. If I am glassing a field from a shooting position, that is different. I will bring a tripod.
Thanks in advance,

I use a Swarovski 15 x 56 handheld quite a bit. The advantage of the higher power is best achieved by bracing your hands/arms to get a still image but a tripod is definitely not needed.

I have 20x60 Pentax's and 20x80 Swift's.At range's over 400 yard's or if you plan on glassing for more than a few minute's you will need a tripod.Just my opinion.
