140 gr accubond

Will the 140 gr accubond perform? My 7mmstw at 900 yds has1000 pounds of energy. Will they open up ? Thanks for your time. Joe

What is your velocity at that range, that is what will determine if you deliver your 1000 ft lbs of energy or not.

The velocity is 1816.

Nosler states that for the accubond bullet min impact velocity for reliable expansion is 1800 fps.

I would say border line but only one way to find out, I know the 140 gr .277 Accubond opens at 2000fps but the petals don't fold back with lung hit deer. An elk will get things opened up better.
