22 Hornet reloads?

Pally,

Which bullet are you speaking of?

I put 5 shots out of a Browning A-Bolt Micro at 100 into 1/2" groups and whoever else shoots it.
I have shot 200 yards and the the groups do open to about 1 1/2" -2".
The wind does really affect these light bullets but having them leave the barrel at 3000 or very close to helps defend against this. (less time for wind deflection)
My load is 13.5 'Lil-Gun 1.895oal with 40gr V-max. This is the bullet my rifle likes and shoots very well. It even shoots great out of my buds Handi-rifle.

A great turkey rifle. I just couldn't hit one in a wind at 210 after 3 shots.

It is just Hornet....150-200 yard accuracy out of good factory rifle.

Yes I was referring to the 40gr vmax over the standard 35gr flat nosed factory hornady round. I thought maybe it mite not drop quite as bad from that aspect being it's more sleek an aerodynamic, yes I realize it's just a hornet but my son an I love the little ruger 77/22 we camoed it all up, like pointing a broomstick, a friend of mine likes to refer it to.

Pally, do a search for Goodgrouper or 7mmRHB about shooting a Rock Chuck @ 640 yds with a 22 Hornet. My loads and allot of other info about shooting the 22 Hornet at long range are in the archives.

13.8gr L'il Gun 40 gr BT at 3060fps. Ruger 77-22 will get it done all day on prairie all day at 400yds with a good half MOA load and good charts. A decent scope that dials up and down consistently is a must.

PM me if you need more info. ---- Roland
