Amen......Those are everywhere around here, and when not using a shotgun in the fields and pastures, I love using an air rifle plinking them off my backyard bird feeders and tree limbs.

They love a pecan tree. Especially if it's near grain bins.
Did somebody say pecan trees, bins and a power line?
Of yeah, sunflowers and popcorn too.

How are they best prepared for the table ? Any recipes to share? Anyone?
For the most part i have seen copperheads on the farm. Ever since i was a boy. Now timber rattlers are showing up. Could do without both but the rattlers need to go. Copperheads are sneaky. They will bite you with no warning. One got me in the yard 15 years ago. But their venom is not that bad.

Sounds like a hunt I would enjoy trying to go on. And I would assume much less expensive than going to Africa?

My hunting partner would go every year. He loved it. He wound up shooting with a group of Yankees from Minnesota on one of his first hunts. After that, they would book together year after year. They called him Confederate for some reason.
