Sporting is fun but I'll have give my opinion and that is bunker trap/ Olympic Trap is better. Problem is there are so few bunkers in the country few get the opportunity to try it. Talk about a clays game that will humble a person I've seen great skeet shooters, ATA shooters and sporting shooters try one round then walk away shaking their head. Bunker trap also makes for a better spectator sport in my opinion. I'm not saying one type of clays shooter is better than the other if you are breaking birds in any of them then you are having fun and that's cool.
Will reloading disapear with the new too lazy to do it generation

There's bunker trap about an hour away, I want to try it one of these days. Looks like a hoot!

Yes and no. The leather belt or paddle that wasn't spared very often tended to make me focus really hard on what I might not have been interested in otherwise. That being cropping tobacco, cutting Gladiolas, splitting firewood, or bailing out the septic tank. Literally. If Daddy said do it you better do it! At his earliest convenience. Like it or not!
Lesson Learned, Early
. It's not ok to sit home and not work because there isn't a job you are interested in. Or that interrupts frivolous interests like weed, drinking, playing video games, instagram, TikTok or doing what your parents asked you to do. I didn't see it so much then but being raised like that ain't all bad. And not having all the distractions we followed people, my Pappy most of all, watched them work, learned how, and helped them. After that we might fish or hunt a bit. That opportunity is still here. But you still need to get your fingers dirty when planting a garden.The new kids are smarter and have been exposed to more technical stuff or worldly stuff in a shorter amount of time. Some of it fascinating. Some of it poisonous. The holdup is having to buck up and accept that you have to do what you may not like. No excuses! That is where the gap for some comes in. And mostly it's the fault of the parents or lack of parents or discipline.
Guilty! You can tell the kids that are raised right. Some just need a bit of directional influence to take off. Some, like me are hard headed and don't learn so quick! The other side of that coin that's heartbreaking today is some of those kids home lives. Due in part to parents, drugs, alcohol, abuse etc. They get little direction other than school. But gangs have a very real draw in their direction.If I had been allowed to do only what I was interested in, I'd have played football, baseball, shot guns, chased girls, and drank beer. I did do all of that but it became very clear and of high consequence that those activities did not come before or have an effect on your work. Or next time you would only have one choice! No Timeouts! Yes I'm guilty of trying the timeout method as well.
PS. Sorry I'm killing y'all with long posts. I've been doing a bit too much and my knee has been swelling quite a bit. So it's rest and ice. Dr.s orders plus he put me on Prednisone.
I haven't beat up any trees yet or been forced to move out so y'all must be doing your jobs. 
I have been a might grumpy though!Funny story involving unusual but very effective punishment. Some of you may not like it. It's a little cruel! Read at your own discretion! I had a very good friend growing up and at 14 one of his chores was feeding the dogs. Daddy would come home from work and go check to see if it was done. Lesson learned
parents that ask questions like, did you get your work done today generally already know the answer before they ask! 
Parents may not be quite as dumb as we thought. Harry had not fed or watered the dogs. This went on for three days. Harry was, occupied and forgot! The 4th day it came to a head when Harry's dad got home. No yelling, no chastising, Dad simply came in and told Harry, come with me! His dad had fed all the dogs. But the Fort Knox pen door was open. It was 9 PM. Summer, Hot, Bugs, Dad shut the gate behind him. No food, but a fair amount of water. Dad walked by the pen occasionally next day, checking on Harry, but not speaking. Harry was miserable, tired, bored, hungry, and thirsty. At 7:00pm. His dad came out and fed and watered all the the other dogs. He made sure Harry had ample water. Then turned around and went back in the house. About 10pm as Harry's hopes of getting out diminished he saw a light come on and heard the screen door slam. Dad was coming! Dad paused at the door with the key! He said "Boy, you been out here 1 day. Dogs get hungry and thirsty just like you do. Those dogs, if I had not fed and watered them would have felt like you do now but it would have been for four days. If you don't want back in that pen, don't forget to feed the dogs again! Harry never spent another day in that pen!

Trap has just always been boring to me. Now I've only watched bunker a little on tv so no experience there. What I enjoy is getting out there and figuring out how to break the long, fast or slow, technical targets or pairs that have a very high difficulty rate. Then move on to the next! So Bunker could hook me I guess! This is why I have come to the opinion that there are two kinds of Clay shooters. This doesn't take skill into account. It's a process and most have to crawl before they can walk. Some have to crawl or walk longer than others..
The 1st encounters a target or 2 that they can't hit. They get mad, blame the target setter, quit and go home. Eventually they come back but they will only shoot fluff targets. They won't budge from their comfort zone. They want to get better. But shooting better takes breaking out of that comfort zone.
Type 2 finds a couple presentations he struggles mightily with. He may get mad and say a few words. But tomorrow he will be back early with 2 flats of shells, a heart full of determination, and the attitude that he will get better. Astonishingly, He/she/they/them/neither/either/or other, I think those are the pronouns, probably not, may even enlist some help to shorten the process.

Good words Muddyboots! It really fries my chaps when someone says they are paying for my retirement. As you noted, what happened to the 50 years of contributions to Medicare then to fine out I have to pay $200 a month for it for the rest of my life? Then add on the supplemental plan too? Thank God, the outfits I worked for over the years had 401k plans. Oh, and I am still working fulltime at the age of 66. Yikes.Paying for our retirements? I worked since 14. Many did same. Today? Can't get off the sofa. So you are paying for our financial investments? Our pensions we earned? The 40-50 years we paid into the SS systems? The supplemental insurances we have to buy to cover medical costs not covered by Medicare? Really?
The first thing I see is the need to have things and expenses that we did without. We drove less than desirable vehicles that were not status symbols into the ground, $2,000 phones? Our philosophies and decisions are different. My 2009 Ram 2500 4x4 gasser has over 215K on it. Still runs fine. No need to buy new. Subscriptions to whatever? Lot of us were one income families which limited us but we made do. The list is endless. Most here worked their butts off to get where they are now.
If we could buy a $10K shotgun, we would have dragged it thru the briars to shoot bunnies. It is a tool. My walnut wood stock rifles look more like I beat the game to death. Every mark is simply character added to each rifle that I can feel and relive. Sometimes it is good and bad.
I started reloading 50 years ago with cobbled together from hand offs, garage sales, newspaper ads, whatever. I still have same Lyman balance beam, Lyman powder measure. Stuff Older than most people here. Time is never part of any equation.
Reloading is a deep personal connection to both hunting and shooting. No different than crafting your arrows, tying flies, making lures. Shooting an animal with something you made adds to the total experience. Includes building your own rifle. Today you can assemble one with parts and barrels made to your own specifications to increase performance. Catching a fish on your fly or lure no different. I call these activities emotional investment into things you love to do. There is NOT one person IMO that doesn't take that completed round and look at it with a connection "I did that". Many even envision that buck, bull, cow, whatever getting whacked. I tie salmon flies and "I know" it will catch a 30lber!!
There is pure simple pleasure crafting ammo or whatever that remains within your core. It adds to your outdoor experiences. JM2¢

Get your kids to put down the phone or gaming controller and take them to the range. I did ok. Kid went to smithy school and now working in gun shop and he is adding a reloading supply room to the shop. Teach them early. With all the videos out there it is easy to learn. Find some used stuff to get started. Powder and primer prices suck but still ok vs factory loads for rifle stuff anyway.

Very good observations. Like many, or most, of us handloaders, I started with a simple RCBS single-stage press, a balance beam scale and a few other very basic tools. The generic equipment served me well for a very long time.
Over the years I picked up on some of the tips I've learned from the pros, and I'm a bit more "sophisticated" (not a word generally associated with me!) in my loading processes. I feel to wring out a bit more accuracy, and to fit rounds more precisely with each rifle I load for, the extra steps are worthwhile. And I find the extra tweaks to be rewarding and fun. However, you're right that we shouldn't overwhelm someone who is starting out with an expectation they buy expensive tools and complicated equipment just to get the ball rolling.
Good for you for sharing / donating your equipment and knowledge with new handloaders. Fantastic!!
