What's the weirdest critter that's shown up on your porch?

This guy showed up in the back yard and was eyeballing the cat!! I had to go out and shoe him away

Used to find a dead lizard on my front porch. Couldn't figure out why lizards were dying on there. Then one day, I hear tapping on my sliding door. A roadrunner was standing there with a lizard in its beak. I guess he was seeing his reflection in the door and thought it was his new girlfriend and he was bringing gifts to her.

Wife sent me a picture of a bobcat one day looking in the sliding glass door. Think that's more surprising ha. As a kid we used to have peacocks visit from a neighboring vineyard.
The issue with peacocks is thaT they just DEFICATE ALL OVER THE FREAKING PLANTATION (I'd use the common word but likely get in trouble?) Peacocks are worse than DUCKS. There you have it!

The cat would have been easy prey. I'd be more worried about my small children.

I read the other day that we have gone from perhaps 500 of these to a half million? I guess if I felt one was a threat to my offspring I would not have trouble dealing with it, as magnificent as they are.

Did y'all know that BEN FRANKLIN advocated for the WILD TURKEY for the USA SEAL? He gave all manner of reasons why they were superior. I guess he was right but a TURKEY will never be as MAGNIFICENT as a Bald Eagle.

We spread my dad's ashes in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia down MacDonald Road (purfect... that's our surname) and as we were doing it a bald eagle got seriously upset flying a little close and making a racket. It seems we were stomping around under the 100 foot tall trees where its nest was. Would not want to do battle with one of those w/o full tilt boogie face protection and leather gauntlets!

I "used" to have a group of Jehovah Witness folks come through the neighborhood once in a while. Usually there were six folks inside their vehicle, younger, middle aged and more maturer ones. They were nice folks, always pleasant. They would come, spread their word and leave me a pamphlet. I told them that I had my own religion and that I was not changing my denomination. I asked them to not come back to my door again. "But"…..they would still show up from time to time. At that time I lived in a neighborhood with no neighbors and 200 feet off the road. It was a hot day, I had been working in the yard and came in to take a shower. Getting out of the shower I wanted a cold drink, toweled off and went into the kitchen for the cold drink. Got the drink from the refrigerator and started back to get dressed, and….there standing on my glass framed door was one of the female Jehovah Witnesses with a pamphlet in her hand. So….here we are standing 15 feet apart, staring at each other, and I am buck naked, and standing there in my birthday suit!!! Trust me when I tell you that I scare myself when I look in the mirror cuz "I ain't no featherweight" for sure!!! This poor woman had to been bleaching her eyes going down my driveway after seeing me naked standing there in my kitchen 🤯🤨🤭!! They have never been back since.
DON'T LOOK ETHEL !!BUT IT WAS TOO LATE

Had the jehovah witness at my front door one day. They wanted to come in. I told them just wait a minute while i put my snake back in the cage. Went to a bedroom window and looked out. And saw just how fast even the old ones could run.!!!
Next time just tell them your Pentecostal and they will run even faster!

I had a critter randomly show up years ago one night. It was very unexpected. You usually don't see them around much as they are mostly feral and nocturnal. This one may have been disease infected and looking for food. The common name I'm not allowed to use on her but I think the scientific name is ex-wife. She went by the local name of Lisafer. Be careful out there, although rare, they are vicious and will attack when your back is turned! 😁😁😁

This is why I stay out of Missourri. Beautiful state, great people....except for one.

That beats the crazy Tom Turkey we had in the hood for a while, he would strut in the middle of the road and LOVED the school bus! He would peek in windows, front and back porch.

Had enough of groundhogs, coons, possums, and skunks, you can have the lemurs although they seem cool, I bet they can tear up stuff and eat the entire garden!

Good luck!
