Metal would need to be removed to make it Safley accommodate Feed and function!! my smith says "No" ! Too much both forward in front of the Magizine and also under the rear Bridge to allow for extraction and ejection! i'm just repeating what i was told !

I don't know who your GS is, but, this is a simple operation I have done numerous times.
You need to find someone competent in altering model 70's.

To clarify for you, nothing is removed from the front of the action, all work is done on the rear bridge and bottom of rear receiver for the mag cutout.
You will need the rear bridge scope base holes filled and re-cut, hole spacing is different.
If it is a 300 Norma Mag, then none of this will matter, as the bolt face and feed rails will have been widened.
If it's a 308 Norma Mag, then the above can be done to accommodate the 300H&H.

I am retired from gunsmithing and I live in Australia, so, no, I cannot do the work, sorry.
Best Model 70 smith in the US is Darcy Echolls, not sure if he is taking work, last time I spoke with him was back in 2020, just before I retired.

this founds great ! where would i get the new spring snd follower for the he 300. H and H ?? brownells??? midway??? or the Pre 64 Sight ??? thank you 🙏 again!! Lenny

Many sources list these, personally, I sourced mine from PT&G.
I had an account and never had to deal with delays that I see mentioned by the general public. So, maybe try a few places on the interwebs.

ok. MM i think you just saved this project !! i will get all my parts back from the Smith , and will begin a new search ! I thank you for your advice ! i'd like to let you know how this turns out ,if you don't mind !!
