Ya, they take some getting used to, the lower mag Im fine the higher I have to be careful.Better try the Sigs out really good first, they make me sea sick

TWO+ DECADES AGO, likely 25 or even 30 years past, I was up in the Angeles National Forest, and this dude works for JPL hands me his binos to look thru. THEY WERE STABILIZED!
I've never since seen anything like it???
Looking due south I could CLEARLY see the port of Los Angeles. That's THIRTY SIX MILES. And it was not jumping around. Must have been a breeze as there was no smog that day, either!
I'm old, but before I die, I would DEARLY LOVE to own a quality STABILIZED 10x50 or so binocular.
Even a 7x40 would do.
I'd buy it tomorrow if I knew what to buy.
Yea if you ever figure out the brand of that set of binos I'd be all ears!

There are a few binoculars that are stabilized (Zeiss, Canon, Sig Sauer, Fujinon, Nikon, KITE, Alpen, Opticron, etc.) on the market. IIRC, our local Scheels has the Sig Sauer Zulu 6/7.
ADDED:
An avid birdwatcher friend has a 20x60 Zeiss S, and IIRC, her set up was over $10K. So, it just depends on your budget.

They were R&D binos from JPL.
I asked. Not available for purchase, as if I could have afforded them at that time in my life?
This was in the late seventies. They were awesome?

What's weird is that his binos looked fairly regular.
The stabilized ones I see today don't look like the regular stuff.
wapiti0223 has a set of Leica Pro's on here for sale for $2500. I have the same set and would not trade them for the world. It's quicker to find ranges and cuts down on having to carry a range finder with me.
Zeiss conquest would be my next choice if I didn't care about the built-in rangefinder, and will be far cheaper than the Leica's. I used a set for years and was never disappointed with their performance.
I agree with everyone: buy the best, or save until you can afford the best, because you will waste a lot more money buying all the cheaper options until you finally bite the bullet. Glass will never be something you will say I should have bought the cheaper option.

I'd like to stay under $600 but I can get a decent discount through work on the Leupolds and Zeiss which puts em in that range. I really want to try 50s for low light.
I'm not in a hurry either so I can wait for sales too.
