Smokless Muzzleloaders bullet of choice for deer with results

Well I got to finally use the pittman Accumax 275 gr bullet. Small doe that came out at 25 yards. Yeah close. Behind the shoulder hit and basically it was field dressed. It was unfreaking believable. Seriously about 60% finished.
What a bullet.
Literally killer results. 65 Gr of 4198 is max according to Hankins brux barrels.

But so far my results with Pittman bullets are so good I don't have to change. But I sometimes like to play, and when my real smokeless muzzleloader gets here I will play for sure.
I must have missed the max load listed. I spoke with him and Mr Parker and neither advised against it. Whoopsie but I'll stay there as it really shoots!

65gr is the "publicly" listed "MAX" for safety/liability reasons. 😇 I can/will provide "details" in a PM.

I have talked to Mr Parker and Hanks over the years. 3/5g bullets gut out Nightforce scopes. 300-310g bullets have quite a bite of recoil as well. 275 HB w/ 73.6gns of H4198 or IMR4-98 or 270g bullets with 75gns of either is phenomenal deer loads. Killed deer at 376yds. A fun load at the range. My daughter has killed deer at 250yds with it.

Deadly and fun loads

325grn bullets….. I know two or three guys who shoot competition. With 325 green bullets shooting 4350 and similar powders the recall is so great it's breaking and cracking the stocks and gutting out the internal mechanisms of the scopes.

I shot 3-4 325grn bullets 6-7yrs ago and cracked the stock and the glass bedding between the screws in the stock. 45cal Rem 700 action. I moved back to 275grns….. way way less recoil.

Really.. I shoot my McWhorter 45XML with 325gr Pittmans and nice doses of 10X pushing them at 3100fps. My rifle loves that load and its pretty much my standard load I shoot. Shoots into .2-.3 depending on me. My rifle is fine and my NF ATACR's 7x35x56 is perfect. Kills deer at 20 yards and out. :)

I'm shooting 350gr XLD's with stiff loads of H4895 at 3,000fps and its not bothered my ATACR 7-35x56 either. Nor prior to the ATACR, the recoil never bothered a Nightforce NXS either.
I've not broken any stocks, rather it be McMillian or chassis.
Loose mounts cause more scope problems IMO. I used to have bedded mounts loosen, which will rattle a scope. I completely stopped that problem with an FG-Force rail from Farrell. Had them build me a 40moa for long range shooting.

I have 5 smokeless setups. Maybe the powder is the difference…. Do you have a Break on it? I cant shoot breaks.. gives me headaches. I have shot XML's w/ Rovig…. Heck we double loaded one a blew it up by accident with him in camp. He replaced the entire setup no charge. Scope also… cracked the glass. I can shoot 2.5" at 411yds w/ 5 shots. 270 or 275grns is plenty for me. My daughter shoots that as well. I had my builds before MW made XML's or I would have probably bought one. Good firing system. NP 8-42x56 with NP-2DD dot…. My favorite crosshair

This setup has almost no recoil. … and accurate. But, my chrono says 73.6grns on 275 bullet says 2880…. 75grns on 270 rolls at 2980…. BUT…. I can swap out H for IMR and at 411yds the point of impact does not change. Very interesting
