to some of our older folks that have been reloading longer than many on the forum have been alive!
I got a large plastic tote with folding lids, a few years before my uncle's death in 2014. I only glanced in it and put it aside……as my "tiny", incomplete reloading room has the appearance of a "failed abortion"!
My life of the past 20 years has not been accommodating to my shooting, hunting, or hand loading. This home and property has dictated much of my life since 1997. It's not gotten much better, less physical work to do, but with age ……far less ambition and energy to get things done! The old Nat Stuckeyh song describes me pretty good….."It Takes Me All Night Long - to Do What I Used to Do - All Night Long"!
Today I was determined to move some stuff out of my reloading room and organize a bit! After moving 2 banana boxes completely full of loaded shotgun shells, by the way - quite heavy! I came to the box my uncle had given me!
Opening the box brought back a lot of memories of time shared with him!
I'm sure he wasn't aware but, he was the one who inspired me to start reloading/handloading. As a kid of about 5 or 6 I saw him and some of his cousins reloading ammo for an upcoming hunt in Wyoming. Of course, at the time, I didn't know it was 30-06's or there was a hunt in Wyoming……but the fact they were loading bullets intrigued me!
Years later, we made quite a few hunts together, including my first hunt out West….a hunt near Meeker, Co.
Anyway, these are a few of the things in that box! memtb
